Kann
Dedicated gluten free Haitian cuisine by Top Chef finalist, Gregory Gourdet.
It's not that often that those of us with gluten issues get to eat at a place repeatedly ranked as one of the best in the country and don't have to worry about getting glutened. Kann is that wonderful unicorn of a restaurant in Portland!
I dined here with a good sized group, family style, so was able to sample a wide assortment of dishes.
Of these, the pork chop was my favorite. About 3 inches thick and covered in a warm, peach sauce.
Be sure to save room for dessert!
Kann has amazing food, wonderful service and a trendy setting. That said, it's pretty well lit and noisy, so not the ideal date night spot unless the goal is just to impress with the food and your planning skills in snagging such a hard to get reservation!
Speaking of which, word on the street is reservations open on the 1st of every month for the following month. They also have a sister bar down in the basement where you can enjoy some of the delicious eats. This is on my very long list of places to check out soon and will report back when I do!
