Bamboo Sushi is a must-visit if you love sushi and are gluten free! Currently, everything on the menu is gluten free except for the bun used for the wagyu sliders. Their menu actually notes the item(s) like this that have gluten in them (vs. marking items gluten free) since there are so few. This means you can have a feast of tempera veggies, rolls with tempura shrimp, sashimi or nigiri with a nice dunk of gluten free tamari, and even chicken karaage with no worries of getting glutened!

I've been observing more and more restaurants are following suit with using rice flour based batters to fry things. This allows them to not only appeal to gluten free diners, but also the finished product is generally lighter and crispier than if wheat flour was used in the batter.

Bamboo's menu is extensive and I highly recommend going with a group so you can try a wide variety of dishes.

When I'm in the mood for a roll, you can't beat their Unicorn roll if you love a little heat. It's a must order for me with every visit.

For sashimi, the chef's choice flight is fun, but my go-to is the salmon flight with the King Salmon Belly add-on.

You can generally find a Bamboo location nearby anywhere you are in Portland - from Beaverton to Downtown, NW, SE, and more!

I frequent the downtown SW 12th location since it's nearby and I love the atmosphere! I probably will be frequenting Bamboo even more as they just wisely started a loyalty program! Earn points with every meal that can be redeemed for discounts in the future!
